Xishan Temple~Guanyu Temple

Shunde is a place with a long history and Lingnan cultural characteristics. [ThumbsUp] There is also a Xishan Temple near where we live. This is a Guandi Temple built in the 20th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty. It was named because the temple is located at the foot of Shunde Xishan (Fengshan). The temple has undergone many renovations and expansions, and the existing buildings are the result of a renovation during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.

🌟Highlights:
The architectural style of Xishan Temple embodies the unique charm of Lingnan's late Qing Dynasty architectural art. The main buildings are arranged along the longitudinal axis, including the mountain gate, front hall, main hall and other parts. The gate has five bays, and the ridge is decorated with double-sided paintings of Shiwan pottery sculptures. The themes are all stories from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and the characters are simple and vivid [ThumbsUp]

The temple houses statues of Guan Yu, Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. The seated statue of Guan Yu dates back to the early Qing Dynasty. It weighs 1,500 kilograms, is two meters tall and looks majestic and solemn. The temple has a rich variety of brick carvings, gray sculptures, murals and painted pottery statues. The themes are mostly about the Three Kingdoms story, showing the unique charm of Lingnan culture. It's beautiful🤩
