Frankfurt Layover 🌈 | City Walk in 1.5 Hours

Starting my day at Stuttgart Hbf, I took the RE1 and transferred to RE4 to reach Frankfurt Central Station (Hbf). Good news for travelers: they have luggage lockers! I used a large one — €5 for 4 hours — super convenient and totally freed up my hands. 🙌
🗺️ My lazy-day city walk route:
Eurotower → Römer (Roman Square) → Frankfurt Cathedral → Iron Bridge (Eiserner Steg)
All the spots are clustered together, and the walk between each is under 10 minutes. A relaxed stroll with photo stops took me about 1.5 hours total. 📷
☁️ It was cloudy over the Rhine River — not quite as dazzling as on a sunny day, but still had its own kind of moody charm. Frankfurt really tried its best to clear up, but alas, I must’ve brought the Greek rain gods with me. 😅
💫 On the Iron Bridge, I had a little serendipity moment — met a super sweet Korean girl who helped me take a lovely photo. Turns out, she’s actually a flight attendant for the airline I was flying that afternoon! Sadly, she wasn't on duty that day, or we might’ve bumped into each other again mid-air. ✈️
✈️ From Frankfurt Hbf to the airport:
Super easy — take S8 or S9 directly to Terminal 1 (about 30 minutes).
If you’re flying out of Terminal 2, follow the signs to the shuttle bus after arriving.
🌈 Right after passing airport security, I saw a rainbow — a perfect ending to my mini-adventure. If you're reading this and spot a rainbow too, may it bring you endless good luck! 💖
