"Captain Uncle! Did a mermaid bite the hook?" Duoduo waved her children's fishing rod around as the lights on the fishing platform gradually lit up in the dusk. Old Chen pointed to the floating city in the distance: "Thirty thousand people live here, with schools and supermarkets all on the sea!" Suddenly, the fishing line sank sharply, and the little girl screamed as she was dragged by a squid: "Mom, help! An alien octopus monster!"
The boat captain taught us to use glow sticks to lure the squid. Duoduo stared at the translucent red squid belly: "Do they have LED lights inside their bellies?" The night fishing boat rowed past the aquaculture nets, and the splashes of water glowed with phosphorescence. As the aroma of grilled squid wafted through the air, the little foodie mumbled while munching: "For my next birthday, I don't want cake, I want glowing grilled squid rings!"
On the way back, we met fishermen retrieving their nets. Duoduo imitated the local dialect and shouted: "How many baskets did you harvest today?" The entire bay echoed with laughter and lights, as if we were returning home stepping on the stars.
