National Day Trip to Yushan Island
On October 1st, we went to Yushan Island. During National Day, the boats depart once full, basically every half hour. On regular days, you need to check the schedule. We departed from Yujing Pier, a half-hour boat ride. We drove from Wenzhou to the pier; the parking lot costs 20 yuan overnight per day. The weather was great, and the pier was very beautiful.
We booked a stay at Aman Island Homestay, the best spot on the island for photos. Rooms 3 and 4 at the homestay do not include pick-up or drop-off, while other rooms have one pick-up or drop-off trip. We recommend choosing the pick-up option. There are private cars on the island; one trip costs 120 yuan, usually with 7 seats. The ring road around the island has been completed, and it takes 20 minutes to get to the homestay. We contacted the host to arrange check-in. The hotel is really photogenic. Prices during National Day have increased quite a bit. The homestay service is basically zero; you have to ask how to use the curtains yourself, and the curtains are not very effective at blocking light. Breakfast the next day was simple but overall okay.
The next morning, we went to the Big and Small Tianhu Lakes. After packing and checking out, the host called a car for us; it cost 40 yuan per trip. The attraction ticket was 40 yuan plus 36 yuan for the park shuttle bus. After arriving at the mountain, you can store your luggage at the visitor center and then start hiking. The weather was great. It takes about half an hour to reach Small Tianhu Lake, which has the most beautiful scenery—half grassland, half sea. After viewing, we took the bus back to the pier. If you buy the boat ticket on WeChat a day in advance, it costs 95 yuan round trip. You can enter and exit the pier freely, for example, entering at Yujing and exiting at Sansha. Due to transportation on the island, you can also rent a car for 200 yuan on regular days, and 300 yuan during National Day. We checked out Moon Bay Beach on the ring road, but it wasn’t that great. So we went straight to the homestay to start our photo session.
