Mohua Island, located in the southeast corner of Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, is a narrow island running northeast to southwest. It is the largest island in Rongcheng and is named after its resemblance to the ancient sword Mohua. It covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers and has a coastline of 20.22 kilometers.
The island's strategic location provides a natural barrier to Shidao Harbor, creating unique conditions for the development of fisheries and tourism. A lighthouse and a fishing pier were built in 1985, and the western waters offer excellent conditions for the construction of a 50,000-ton port. Moxia Island is a romantic island, replete with beautiful legends. Legends such as the Moxia Sword Forge, the Sister-in-Law Stone, and the German Princess' Tomb add to the island's mystique.
It has a temperate continental semi-humid monsoon climate with distinct four seasons, moderate cold and hot seasons, synchronized light and temperature, and simultaneous rain and heat. Spring is dry and windy, summer is hot and rainy, autumn is sunny and refreshing, and winter is cold and snowy.
