1-Day Trip to Kawaguchiko

Alright! Let’s continue sharing the experience of visiting Kawaguchiko in March! Although the sky wasn’t very clear during this trip, which meant we couldn’t see Mount Fuji in its full glory, the charm of this place remains absolutely captivating!

Starting from Shinjuku, we took a comfortable train ride 🚅 for about two hours and arrived at Chureito Pagoda! Even though the day we visited was quite cloudy, partially obscuring Mount Fuji, the atmosphere at the pagoda was still stunning and very peaceful. The bright red pagoda surrounded by lush greenery gave off a serene and relaxing vibe.
Walking up to the pagoda and enjoying the surrounding views, even without Mount Fuji as the backdrop as we had hoped, the beauty of the pagoda and the overall scenery still made us feel incredibly good.

Next, we hopped on another train to Kawaguchiko Station and then took a bus to Oishi Park! This is another spot that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll! Although we couldn’t see Mount Fuji’s reflection on the lake clearly due to the cloudy weather, walking along the shores of Lake Kawaguchiko, breathing in the fresh air, and admiring the vast lake view was such a refreshing experience!
Even though the flowers weren’t in full bloom yet, the overall atmosphere was still beautiful, with plenty of cute photo spots. There were delicious ice creams to enjoy and souvenir shops to browse through as well!

For those who want to follow this route from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko, it’s super easy! Just take a train from Shinjuku, either the Fujikyuko Line or the JR Limited Express Fuji Excursion. The journey takes only about 2 hours!

To sum up this Kawaguchiko trip, even though we didn’t get to see Mount Fuji in its full glory as we had hoped, the charm and beauty of both Chureito Pagoda and Oishi Park were still incredibly impressive! It was a journey filled with beautiful nature and a relaxing atmosphere. Even without Mount Fuji as the backdrop on the day we visited, the other aspects of this place made the trip absolutely worthwhile!
