Lili Ancient Town is located 30 kilometers southeast of Wujiang County, east of Shanghai, north of Suzhou, and south of Jiaxing, Zhejiang. It has a history of nearly a hundred years and is a well-preserved typical Jiangnan ancient town.

Most of the buildings in the town date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. In addition, its long embankments are all built with Jieji stone. The ancient town is also the hometown of the famous patriotic poet, Liu Yazi.

The alleys of the ancient town are the most distinctive. Lili has 85 alleys of various types, including 70 hidden alleys and 15 visible alleys.
