
Lili Ancient Town is located 30 kilometers southeast of Wujiang County, east of Shanghai, north of Suzhou, and south of Jiaxing, Zhejiang. It has a history of nearly a hundred years and is a well-preserved typical Jiangnan ancient town.
Most of the buildings in the town date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. In addition, its long embankments are all built with Jieji stone. The ancient town is also the hometown of the famous patriotic poet, Liu Yazi.
The alleys of the ancient town are the most distinctive. Lili has 85 alleys of various types, including 70 hidden alleys and 15 visible alleys. The hidden alleys are the most distinctive, including double alleys, double alleys with two hidden alleys connected, double alleys with visible and dark alleys side by side, and alleys within alleys.
Lili Town has a subtropical monsoon marine climate with distinct four seasons, moderate sunshine, abundant rainfall, and a mild and humid climate.
