Oshinomura (おしのむら) is a small highland village located in Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. It sits at an altitude of approximately 936 meters at the northern foot of Mount Fuji. The village is famous for its crystal-clear springs, the "Oshino Hakkai," which offer a stunning view of Mount Fuji's reflection. Oshinomura is also popular for its traditional local cuisine, rich natural scenery, and cultural events.

Oshino Hakkai
Oshino Hakkai consists of eight clear ponds, formed by the underground filtration of snowmelt from Mount Fuji. These ponds include Deguchi Pond, Okama Pond, Botsu Pond, Choshi Pond, Owaike Pond, Turbido Pond, Kagami Pond, and Shobu Pond. These ponds are designated as a National Natural Monument, one of the 100 Famous Waters, and one of the New 100 Views of Mount Fuji. In 2013, they were registered as a World Cultural Heritage along with Mount Fuji. 
Geography and History of Oshino Village
Oshino Village is located at the northern foot of Mount Fuji, bounded by the Uchino region to the east and the Shibokusa region to the west. The village covers a total area of 25.15 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 9,242 (as of 2019). The village boasts several historic shrines, such as the Shibokusa Sengen Shrine in the Shibokusa region and the Uchino Sengen Shrine in the Uchino region, which are closely associated with Mount Fuji worship.
