Shiraito Falls is famous as one of the most famous waterfalls in the world. This waterfall is created when the melting snow from Mt. Fuji springs from the cliff at the boundary between the New Fuji Volcanic Layer, which is a water-permeable layer at the top, and the Old Fuji Volcanic Layer, which is a water-impermeable layer at the bottom. Hundreds of waterfalls, large and small, flow down from the curved cliff, which is 20m high and 150m wide.
