Chureito Pagoda, also known as the Red Pagoda in Thailand, is another popular location to visit for Fuji-san. From here, you can enjoy a clear view of Fuji, unobstructed by buildings or tree branches. You can see Fuji and the city as far as the eye can see.
The Red Pagoda is a five-story, red, Japanese-style pagoda built as a memorial to those who died in World War II. It truly embodies Japan, combining the pagoda's design, Fuji-san, and cherry blossoms. It's a (very) popular landmark that everyone who visits Japan must visit.
But there's a catch, lol. To get a photo with the view of Fuji, you have to climb about 400 steps. You'll be out of breath and still not reach the pagoda. You'll have to take breaks frequently. Luckily, we went in winter, so the ascent wasn't too tiring because the weather was nice. The funny thing is, I wore everything on the way up, including my coat, scarf, and gloves. But as I continued up, I started taking off my accessories, one by one, lol.
We were lucky to go on a clear day, so we got a clear view of Fuji. It was so perfect, I couldn't stop admiring Fuji-san. And seeing Fuji against the red pagoda as the backdrop was so perfect. Their chemistry was amazing. This is exactly the chemistry that Ajarn Au was looking for.
The view from the red pagoda is beautiful and gorgeous, and it also screams Japaneseness. Absolutely amazing!
