I dare say this is the best Tempura i have ever eaten in Japan and where is this place? Well, the restaurant name is called Tempura Hirao. Here at this restaurant, you can only find mainly locals eating inside and you can expect to wait 20-30 minutes for a seat. This shows how popular this place is.

Order your desired Tempura set at a vending machine, wait in line for a seat and the food will be served directly to you - easy as ABC. Dining at Hirao restaurant is inexpensive, with their basic 7 kinds vegetable Tempura set at only 840 yen. Each set comes with a bowl of rice and soup, which can be very filling. Other sets that include seafood or meat is at 940 yen onwards, which is a steal. The wait is worth it, as all their Tempura are fried freshly on the spot, in front of you. The batter is light, crispy and the ingredients are so fresh. Dip your Tempura in a radish dashi sauce and its oh so good! Highly recommend dining at this spot, you will say their Tempura is number 1!
