Fuliang County Yamen

Fuliang County Yamen is located in Jiucun Village, Fuliang County, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. It was originally built in the 11th year of the Yuanhe period of the Tang Dynasty (816 AD) and was rebuilt during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1821 AD).
Upon arriving here, the verses from the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi's "Pipa Xing" involuntarily come to mind: "Merchants love profits and despise parting, last month went to Fuliang to buy tea. Now back at the river mouth guarding an empty boat, the moon shines bright around the boat, the river water cold." Fuliang, during the mid-Tang period, already had a considerable scale of tea production and was an important tea distribution center in the south of the Yangtze River. Since Fuliang County governed the porcelain capital Jingdezhen in ancient times, producing both porcelain and tea, it contributed more tributes and was considered a superior county. The magistrate was ranked higher than the common seventh-rank county officials, holding a fifth-rank position, hence the county yamen's architectural regulations were also higher than those of ordinary yamen, earning it the reputation of "China's Number One Yamen". Fuliang County Yamen is the only completely preserved feudal-era county-level government office in southern China, thus it is known as "The Number One Yamen of the South".
Fuliang County Yamen was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in October 2019.

Transportation: Take bus 603 to Fuliang Ancient County Yamen station in Fuliang County town, walk 120 meters, or take bus 39 to Fuliang Ancient County Yamen station, walk 90 meters to arrive.
