Golden Autumn Sunset Hunt: The Sunset Melting into Gold at Tuanshan Coast

Golden October
All across the country, the color palette is spilled
But in Bayuquan, Yingkou
What you see is not just autumn colors in every tree
But the romance of the sun setting into the sea
Here, there are no forests dyed in layers of color
But between the sea and sky, there is the most magnificent orange-red.

The name Bayuquan comes from its history as a fishing ground for Spanish mackerel in Bohai Bay. This visit to Tuanshan National Marine Park is to a romantic place that combines marine erosion landforms with the sunset sinking into the sea.

Four Key Photo Spots Explained
1️⃣ The Light and Shadow Prelude on the Coastal Wooden Boardwalk (Photos 11-13)
From the entrance, turn right where there is a clear sign. Follow the winding wooden boardwalk deep inside; the brown-yellow railings and bright yellow steps cast rhythmic wave-like shadows under the low afternoon sun, perfectly echoing the adjacent sea.

2️⃣ The Beauty of Empty Frames at the Wedding Photography Base (Photos 7-10)
During peak season, the wedding photography base is bustling. There is even a sign nearby asking visitors not to take photos. In the off-season, you can enjoy this scenery alone. Even the man-made buildings, from the right angle, blend perfectly with natural light to create minimalist and geometrically beautiful light and shadow masterpieces.

3️⃣ Natural Picture Frames of Marine Erosion Landforms (Photos 5-6)
This was the biggest surprise of the trip. The coast is covered with huge rocks, full of marine erosion pits formed by millions of years of wave erosion. These natural window frames are excellent creative composition tools—you can frame the sunset through the stone holes. Of course, you can also stand on the rocks and stage a dramatic “punching the sun” shot.

4️⃣ The Eternal Moment of the Sunset Sinking into the Sea (Photos 1-4)
We waited over an hour for today’s sunset into the sea. From the bright blue horizon, gradually dyed with golden powder, then turning into a boiling orange.

As the sun slowly approaches the horizon, it looks like a molten gold ball cooling down, gently sinking into the dark blue sea. The whole process takes only a few minutes but is so brilliant you don’t want to blink.

People love sunsets, probably because, like “the bright moon rises over the sea, we share this moment though far apart,” they cherish this fleeting grandeur and tenderness.
