Located in the heart of Hiroshima City, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is a place that conveys the tragedy of the atomic bomb, its subsequent recovery, and a desire for peace. The exhibits are incredibly realistic, and through photographs, mementos, and testimonies, you can strongly sense the horrors of war and the preciousness of life.
When I actually visited, the quiet space naturally brought me to tears, and there were moments when I felt alone and deeply absorbed. It was a special moment during my trip.
The museum is easy to navigate, and there are plenty of guides in English and other languages, making it a popular spot with international tourists. At the end of the exhibit, there was a message of hope for the future, which left me feeling not only heavy but also positive. 🌱
It's about a 15-minute streetcar ride from Hiroshima Station and a short walk from the Genbaku Dome-mae tram stop. It's recommended to visit the museum in conjunction with the Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
If you're visiting Hiroshima, be sure to take some time to reflect on peace here. It's sure to be a memorable experience.
