🍚 One of the joys of traveling is, of course, eating! As the saying goes, "Even Mount Geumgang is best enjoyed after a meal," delicious food makes the journey even more delightful. Being by the seaside, it's a must to try seafood and local specialties.
🦀 There are many sashimi and crab restaurants near Gyeongpo Beach. Among them, I chose a place with a signboard specializing in Uljin crabs. Though not very spacious, the restaurant was clean and offered better value for money compared to others.
🍬 Before the sashimi and crab were served, a seafood appetizer spread was brought out. Finally, the main dishes arrived—sashimi with a chewy texture and crabs filled with firm, succulent meat. We devoured the meal in no time and then headed to Anmok Beach for coffee.
🍩 The next morning, I tried the famous Chodang tofu in Chodang Village, Gangneung. There were signs pointing to "Chodang Tofu Village." While driving, I stopped by Jeong Eun-sook's Chodang Sundubu restaurant and had sundubu hot pot.
🍪 The hot pot, which included blue crabs, was topped with garland chrysanthemum and chili powder. It tasted best after simmering for a while. By the time it thickened near the end of the meal, the flavor was at its peak.
🦀 At the seaside near Mukho Port, there are numerous sashimi and crab restaurants. Among them, I visited "Crabtorang," which offered good value and friendly service. I enjoyed an abundance of crabs at an incredibly affordable price.
🍚 The complimentary dishes, like whelks, were delicious, and the fried rice served in crab shells was also delightful. The crabs were fresh and packed with meat, making for a truly satisfying meal. If you visit Mukho, I highly recommend stopping by.
🍭 Starting and ending the trip with seafood, this gourmet journey was truly a blissful experience. It's one of the true pleasures of traveling.
