I explored the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, also known as The Blue Mansion, located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Built by merchant Cheong Fatt Tze in the late 19th century, it features striking indigo-blue walls and eclectic architectural styles blending Chinese and Colonial influences. Saved from demolition in 1989, the mansion now operates as a hotel-cum-museum, offering guided tours in English. Its unique blue color, achieved with lime and natural indigo dye, reflects historical prestige. Featured in films like "Indochine" and "Crazy Rich Asians," The Blue Mansion is a cultural and cinematic icon, showcasing ongoing restoration efforts recognized by UNESCO.
