🍜 Kanada-Ya Penang – A Quiet Afternoon with Bold Flavours

Dropped by Kanada-Ya Penang on a Thursday afternoon and found the restaurant rather quiet—perfect for a relaxing solo lunch. Known for their truffle ramen, I decided to go with their signature bowl, along with a side of chicken nanban.

Service was prompt and I was seated immediately. The ramen arrived shortly after—its aroma already setting high expectations. The broth was rich and creamy, with a deep umami kick that lingered nicely. The noodles were cooked just right, springy and al dente, holding up well in the thick broth.

The chicken nanban was a pleasant surprise—freshly fried to a crisp golden brown on the outside while keeping its interior juicy and tender. It paired really well with the creamy tartar sauce, giving a good contrast in both texture and taste.

Though the place was quiet, the food didn’t slack in quality. For a casual ramen fix in Penang with a touch of London branding, Kanada-Ya delivers a satisfying experience.
