Intrude into the real-life Grandpa Heidi's ranch!
π Transportation:
βοΈ Self-driving is recommended! Navigate to "Kudening Scenic Area Zhonggou Entrance"
π« Ticket: 60 RMB/person (much cheaper than Binalate!)
π₯ Core activities:
1οΈβ£ Qimengde Viewing Platform βββββ
π A must-visit! About 1 hour hiking on the wooden plank road to the top (or about 2 hours on horseback)
π Panoramic views of snow-capped mountains + spruce forests + valley grasslands, breathtakingly beautiful! You can fly a drone at the top to shoot the "dry land scallion" scene
2οΈβ£ Kafeng Base Camp
π Camping base/RV campground, wildflower meadows are super healing
3οΈβ£ East Gully Route (a lesser-known secret spot)
π Drive deep in, fewer people and wild scenery, accompanied by streams and forests
π Practical tips:
β° Best time: May to September! Sea of wildflowers in June, autumn colors in September
π Gear: Comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen, windbreaker (mountain weather is changeable)
π¨ Accommodation: We chose the Hidden Prosperity Guesthouse near the visitor center, not far from the scenic area, very convenient along the way. Opposite the guesthouse, there is a bonfire night market at 10 PM, very lively.
As soon as we checked in, the owner cut us watermelon π and boiled corn π½. The guesthouse has a picking area, and dinner can be had at the guesthouse restaurant. We had big plate chicken, breakfast was buffet style, all homemade by the owner. The temporary owner also gave us homemade apricot and raspberry jam, so nice β€οΈ
π¬ Summary in one sentence:
Fewer people than Binalate, more magical than Qiaxi! The ultimate self-driving destination, head straight to Qimengde!
