[Turkey🇹🇷] Cappadocia

**Cappadocia** is a region that spreads across the Anatolian Plateau in central Turkey, where otherworldly scenery and history blend together. Here, we will introduce the charms of Cappadocia from three perspectives: nature, culture, and experience.

1. A natural landscape that resembles a fairyland

• Strange rock formations (Fairy Chimneys)
The scenery of mushroom-shaped and tower-shaped rock formations, created by millions of years of volcanic activity and erosion by wind and rain, is like something out of a fantasy movie.

• Underground cities
Underground cities such as Kaymakli and Derinkuyu, built before the Common Era, are huge spaces dug to escape enemy invasions, and are said to have housed up to 20,000 people.

• Rock-cut churches and valleys
The Goreme Open Air Museum is dotted with churches and monasteries carved into the rocks, and frescoes that are more than 1,000 years old remain.

2. Places where you can feel the long history and culture

• Holy land of ancient Christianity

Cappadocia flourished as a refuge for early Christians, and many churches and monasteries were built there. Religious facilities built underground and in caves tell the history of persecution and the depth of faith to this day.

• A stopover on the Silk Road

This region was also important as a trade route, and you can visit caravanserais (caravanserai).

3. Recommended activities you should experience at least once in your life

• Hot air balloon flight (balloon experience)

The sight of countless balloons flying in the sky at dawn is overwhelming. The spectacular view of Cappadocia from the sky will be a lifelong memory.

• Stay in a cave hotel

Cappadocia is unique in that you can stay in a hotel that uses a real cave carved into the rock. The natural insulation effect is also attractive, making it cool in summer and warm in winter.
• Hiking/Trekking

You can walk through beautiful valleys such as the Rose Valley and the Red Valley, see the strange rock formations up close, and enjoy the sunset.
