Depart from Shinjuku South Exit and take the Fuji Five Lakes Line express bus, get off at Chuo-do Shimoyoshida Station. The ride takes about 2 hours and costs 2150¥ per person. It is recommended to book tickets early or arrive early. When arriving at 8:30 on the day, we were told the earliest bus was at 10:15.
🗻Second stop: Mt. Fuji Run - Gotemba Outlet:
You can walk from Asama Shrine to Mt. Fuji Run and enjoy unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji, combined with traditional Japanese two-story detached houses, perfect for photo lovers and leisurely walkers.
Take the bus before Mt. Fuji Run (IC cards can be used), passing through Kawaguchiko and Yamanakako, and arrive at the last stop, Gotemba Run. You can take a free shuttle bus to the outlet.
🛍️Third stop: Gotemba Outlet Shopping
There is a QR code to scan at the shuttle bus drop-off point. Certain stores offer an additional 5% discount for purchases over 11,000¥. Gotemba is vast and mainly divided into three major areas, so it is recommended to find the brands you are interested in first to avoid wasting time!
*Pay attention to the big sale times on the official website for better discounts.
🍢Fourth stop: Shinjuku Torikizoku Yakitori
Gotemba Outlet is open until 8 PM. Take the shuttle bus back to Gotemba Run and then return to Shinjuku (about 2 hours). It’s perfect to eat at Torikizoku, which is within a 5-minute walk from the station, and experience Japanese yakitori culture before taking the last train at midnight back!
