[Trip Moment Delivery 🗞️]
On this trip, I visited the breathtaking First Cliff Walk by Tissot! 🇨🇭☁️🏔️
🛄 | A Start That Feels Like Walking in the Sky
After taking the Firstbahn gondola to the top, you’ll immediately encounter the steel walkway (Cliff Walk) that runs along the edge of the cliff. The narrow metal bridge follows the cliffside, and as the wind blows, the valley below becomes dizzyingly visible. At first, the slight swaying of the bridge made me nervous, but after a few steps, that nervousness quickly turned into excitement. Watching the clouds slowly drift beneath my feet felt like walking in the sky.
🌿 The Majestic Alps at the Edge of the Cliff
The walkway loops around the cliff and ends with a long observation deck extending forward. Standing at the end of the deck, you’re greeted by the towering Eiger peak, which rises like a massive wall, and below it, the green meadows and the village of Grindelwald spread out. The sky was so clear it felt within reach, and the wind was cold but refreshing. Sunlight streaming through the clouds gently outlined the mountains, creating a scene straight out of a movie.
🏔️ Clouds, Wind, and Serenity
It was so serene that it was hard to believe I was standing on a cliff. Only the sound of the wind lingered in my ears, occasionally mixed with people’s exclamations of awe. Looking down, clouds flowed over the valley, revealing and concealing the green village of Grindelwald. In that moment, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Why is the air in Switzerland so pure?’ It was a place where wonder outweighed fear—a moment where I was completely captivated not by the cliff beneath my feet but by the scenery before my eyes.
✅️ | Travel Tips
1️⃣ Route – Interlaken Ost → Grindelwald → Firstbahn gondola (about 25 minutes) → Direct connection to Cliff Walk upon reaching the top.
2️⃣ Duration – About 30 minutes round trip (walking to the observation deck and back).
3️⃣ Recommended Time – 9–11 AM. The sunlight directly illuminates the mountains, making the colors in photos more vivid.
4️⃣ Clothing Tips – As it’s a high-altitude area, even in summer, a long-sleeve jacket and windbreaker are essential. Don’t forget sunglasses and a hat.
5️⃣ Photo Spot – Take a photo at the end of the observation deck for a ‘walking in the sky’ silhouette shot.
