📍Xuancheng · Guangde|Summer rain brings endless vitality
Transportation: The "Fairyland Gateway" connecting three provinces 🚗🚄
Guangde’s transportation is very convenient, with a well-developed road and rail network. Taking the high-speed train from Nanjing takes just over an hour; if you choose to drive, it’s about 2 hours from Nanjing, with the highway exit directly connected to the city center, making traveling with kids easy and stress-free.
Natural Scenery 📸🌳
Thousands of acres of bamboo forests stretch and roll, swaying gently in the wind, with a fairy-like aura drifting among the bamboo shadows. After the rain, the road by Lucun Reservoir feels like stepping into a bamboo sea wonderland straight out of the Land of Oz. The ancient villages hold a thousand-year-old bamboo craft culture, and it feels as if spirits softly whisper among the mountains and waters. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle with your kids and step into a natural fairy tale world, Guangde is definitely the perfect choice! 🌿✨
Recommended Route 🚗
Route: Bamboo Village Gallery Start - Jishan Bamboo Sea - Lucun Reservoir - Lucun Suoshan Bridge
1. Jishan Bamboo Sea
The scenic area is free to enter, covering 15,000 acres of moso bamboo with over 95% coverage. The air is fresh and rich in negative oxygen ions, making it a true natural "oxygen bar." It’s perfect for hiking with children and getting close to nature. Plan for 2-3 hours of visit time.
2. Lucun Reservoir
There are several viewing platforms around the reservoir offering panoramic views. The surrounding villages are abundant, and if you visit before June, you can taste the local crisp and sweet wild plums. It’s recommended to drive slowly along the Bamboo Village Gallery, enjoying the scenery and stops along the way, with the whole trip taking about 3 hours.
3. Lucun Suoshan Bridge
This ancient bridge hidden in the mountains was a filming location for the TV drama "Year of the Dragon." It’s a great spot for photo-loving families to visit and check in.
Tips 🎋✨: Some sections of the Bamboo Village Gallery are narrow, so please drive carefully when meeting oncoming vehicles.
Accommodation Tips 🔔: Guangde County is small in scale, offering flexible accommodation options, very convenient for family trips.
Compared with other popular cities and counties in southern Anhui, Guangde combines the ink-wash charm of ancient Huizhou with the secret bamboo sea of Yixing and Liyang, while having fewer tourists. It’s ideal for busy families to enjoy a relaxing short weekend trip with kids.
