1️⃣ Brick carvings: The brick carvings of Chen Clan Academy are mainly distributed on the eaves, corridor doors, exterior walls, and eaves. The carving techniques are as delicate and fine as hair, and are called "hanging line brick carvings." The main technique is relief carving, with some parts using openwork carving and hollow carving.

2️⃣Stone carvings: The largest stone carvings in Chen Clan Academy are the two stone lions at the front entrance. If you look closely, you will see exquisite stone carvings on the drum stones, steps, and load-bearing columns at the entrance.

3️⃣ Woodcarving: Most of the wood used in the Chen Clan Academy is Pontianak wood imported from Southeast Asia. The wood is hard and resistant to corrosion, with smooth and clear texture, making it very suitable for carving. The wood carvings in Chen Clan Academy are mainly relief and hollow carvings. The most obvious ones are the four screens at the main entrance and the 12 large wooden screens at the back of the Juxian Hall lobby.

4️⃣Lime sculpture: It is mainly distributed in the ridges, corridors, corridor doors and other places. It uses lime as the main material, with straw and straw paper added to make straw ash. Tile tubes and copper wires are tied together to form a frame, which is then shaped with straw ash. The surface is then finely sculpted with paper ash and finally painted.

5️⃣ Pottery sculptures: The pottery sculptures are concentrated on the main ridge. They are the famous Shiwan pottery sculptures. They are sculpted in sections using a variety of techniques such as pasting and pinching, and finally assembled into a complete set of ridge decorations on the roof. There are 11 ceramic sculptures in the Chen Clan Academy. The statues on the main ridge are all leaning forward, as if they are leaning over and looking down.

6️⃣ Copper and iron castings: Iron castings are also called "iron sculptures" and "iron paintings". They are mainly found on the platform and corridor in front of Juxian Hall. The iron cast openwork railings on the platform are the most attractive. The gray-black iron castings form a sharp contrast with the light white stone components, while the iron casting patterns are connected with the slender lines of the stone components, combining naturally and harmoniously, becoming a major feature of the Chen Clan Academy's decorative art.

7️⃣Painting: There is a pair of large 4-meter-high painted door gods on the gate, painted with line-drawing and heavy-coloring techniques. The painting of "Wang Bo Writing "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng"" in the east wing and the painting of "Night Banquet of Peach and Plum Blossoms" in the west wing are also worth seeing.
