Built between 1888 and 1894 during the Qing Dynasty, the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall (also known as Chen Clan Academy) is the largest and most exquisitely decorated traditional ancestral hall in Guangdong. It was originally constructed as a communal clan temple for the Chen family from 72 counties in Guangdong, serving as both a Confucian academy and a worship site for ancestral rites. Today, it houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, showcasing Lingnan’s finest traditional crafts.
