Arriving at Yongqing Fang: Take Metro Line 1 to Huangsha Station, Exit B, and walk a few minutes to reach Yongqing Fang. This area is a model of old town renovation in Guangzhou, blending the charm of traditional Xiguan architecture with a trendy, artistic vibe.
Explore and Enjoy: Enter through the Yongqing Fang Archway and visit Bruce Lee's Former Residence 🏠 to trace the footsteps of the martial arts legend. Then head to the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, which offers free entry via QR code (closed on Mondays). Performances are held daily at 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, and 7:30 PM. Dress up in Hanfu for stunning photos—costumes are also available for rent inside the museum. When you're tired, grab a bowl of Shuangpi Milk or Ginger Milk Pudding at nearby shops to savor authentic Cantonese snacks.
Scenic Boat Ride: After exploring Yongqing Fang, head to Yongqing Fang Pier for a boat ride (Yongqing Fang Pier ⇋ Liwan Lake Pier). Tickets are 60 RMB for a one-way trip and 80 RMB for a round trip, with the journey taking about 40 minutes. Enjoy the breeze as you pass landmarks like Hongqiao and Enning Bridge, and catch views of the Cantonese Opera Art Museum and Xiguan Folk Museum. The scenery is perfect for photos and soaking in the Xiguan atmosphere.
🌃 Evening: Dazzling Night Views at Dafo Temple
Head to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street: After leaving Yongqing Fang, take Metro Line 1 to Gongyuanqian Station. Exit to find yourself at Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, a bustling commercial hub in Guangzhou. Don't miss local delicacies like Chen Tian Ji Fish Skin and Pigeon Rice as you explore.
Visit Dafo Temple: Walk along Beijing Road to reach Dafo Temple. As night falls, the temple lights up brilliantly, with its red walls and yellow tiles glowing under vibrant lighting—perfect for stunning photos. Inside, the temple is filled with incense and offers a serene, solemn atmosphere for prayers and blessings.
