Fuchang Pavilion is located in Fuchang Village, 30 kilometers west of Yiyang County, Henan Province. According to the Yiyang County Chronicles, the Sui Dynasty built Fuchang Palace here, serving as an imperial palace. Emperors Taizong and Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty visited the area. The "Book of Sui: Geography" records that Yiyang County, Henan Prefecture, "has Fuchang Palace." Fuchang County in the Tang Dynasty was named after this palace.
The existing building dates back to the Ming Dynasty. It underwent a comprehensive renovation after the 24th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1819) and was further renovated in recent years. It is a square, hip-and-gable roof with double eaves, five bays wide, surrounded by brackets and domed eaves with hanging bells. The roof is covered in yellow-green glazed tiles, with large dragon heads on each of the east and west ridges. The front features carved doors and windows, and above the lintel is a large plaque reading "Fuchang Palace."

The people's repeated repairs and maintenance naturally expressed their yearning for a better life and their prayers for a bountiful harvest.
Fuchang Pavilion boasts a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with distinct four seasons and moderate temperatures. Every year on the third day of the third lunar month, Fuchang Pavilion holds a Fuchang Pavilion Ancient Temple Assembly to honor the founder of Fuchang Pavilion. March and April are the best months for a visit.
The most unique feature of Fuchang Pavilion is its inclusiveness. Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism gods gather here. Going up the steps, there are many sacred caves on both sides of the pavilion base, including the God of Wealth Cave, Laojun Cave, Luban Cave, West Buddha Cave, Medicine King Cave, Lu Zu Cave, Five Plagues Cave, City God Cave, Hongjun Laozu Cave, Tianzun Cave, Xuan Emperor Cave, Bodhisattva Cave, Nanji Xianweng Cave, Hua Tuo Cave, Twelve Old Mothers Cave, etc.
