#Guangzhou Itinerary
Hidden in Guangzhou Nansha is a secret place where "history and poetry coexist" - Puzhou Fort and Puzhou Garden. Here you can enjoy the gunpowder memory of the century-old artillery fort as well as the cozy romance of the secret garden, where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city on weekends.
๐ Morning: Walking into the smoke of a century-old war - Exploring the Puzhou Fort
๐Location: 5 minutes walk from Exit B of Nansha Passenger Transport Port Station
Tickets: Free (on-site reservation required)
๐ Must-experience highlights
1. The vicissitudes of the ancient fort
The Puzhou Fort, built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, was once the first line of defense of the Humen Fortress.
Climb up the stairs to the top of the mountain, and you will see three well-preserved gun pools.
Although the majestic appearance of the German "Krupp Breech-Loading Gun" is no longer seen,
But the remaining city walls and bullet holes still tell of the war a hundred years ago.
2. Enjoy the panoramic view of Lingdingyang
Standing on the platform at the top of the mountain, the Humen Bridge lies across the sea like a long dragon, fishing boats are dotted in the distance, and the sea breeze with a salty taste hits your face. The desolate feeling of the great poet Du Fu, "I am often a guest in a sad autumn thousands of miles away," instantly surges into your heart.
๐ธ Afternoon: Stroll through the poetic gardens - Slow time in Puzhou Garden
๐Location: 8 minutes walk from the fort
Tickets: Free
๐บ Check in at three major scenic areas
1. East District: A gorgeous encounter with Western classical gardens
The axially symmetrical fountains, sculptures, and arches exude the elegance of the Palace of Versailles in France. When the rose wall is in full bloom (the best time is April and May), you can wear a dress and stand among the flowers, and every photo you take will give you a "European aristocratic photo" feeling.
2. West District: The winding paths of oriental gardens
Rockeries and stacked stones, small bridges and flowing water, bamboo fences and thatched cottages, you will encounter the "Jiangnan Water Village" around the corner.
It is recommended to go to the "Water and Stone Garden" to listen to the gurgling water, and to the "Palm Garden" to see the tall coconut trees swaying.
๐ด Local food recommendations
โข Nansha Yacht Club Western Restaurant: Built by the sea, we recommend lobster pasta and seafood risotto. After dinner, you can watch the yachts at the dock and feel like you are in the Mediterranean.
โข Snack stall at the entrance of Puzhou Garden: authentic fish balls, siu mai, and pot cakes, all you can eat for NT$10 per person, a nostalgic and street-style experience.
๐ Practical Tips
โข Transportation: Metro Line 4 is directly connected to Nansha Passenger Port Station. It is recommended to arrive before 9:00 to avoid the peak traffic;
โข Dressing: The wind is strong in the fort, so it is recommended to wear a windbreaker or a thin jacket; bright-colored clothing (white/yellow/pink) is suitable for the garden, and the output rate of photos will double.
Feel the texture of history at Puzhou Fort and harvest the gifts of nature at Puzhou Garden.
This journey through time and space allows you to calm down and reminisce about the past.
It can also make you slow down and embrace the peaceful and good times of the present.
