Sacred Heart Cathedral (Guangzhou)

The Sacred Heart Cathedral in Guangzhou, also known as the "Stone House," is one of the few all-granite Gothic churches in the world. I was awestruck by its twin towers, which soar above the old city streets like sentinels of faith. Inside, light pours through colorful stained glass, casting a heavenly glow across the pews. Despite being in a busy urban area, the cathedral offers a deep sense of calm. I visited during Sunday service, and the mix of traditional hymns and Chinese-language prayers was beautiful. It’s a majestic, surprising sight in southern China and a peaceful escape from city life.
