Guangzhou on a gray day

I visited Guangzhou on a cloudy day.
The city was shrouded in a thin layer of fog, reflecting the light from the Canton Tower. 🌫
This is a city with a sense of the future. and the peaceful sounds of an ancient temple.

🗺️ One-day itinerary
🚆 Starting from: Zhujiang New Town MRT Station (Zhujiang New Town Station)

Walk across to Canton Tower (Guangzhou Tower) for 10 minutes.
🌇 Recommended evening viewing from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM for both the sunset and city lights.
🎟 Admission fee: Approximately 150–200 yuan
💡 For photos of the lights, head to Haixinsha Park (海心沙公园) for the best view across from the tower.

🕊️ Continue to Dafo Temple (大佛寺)

🚇 From Canton Tower, take subway line 3 → change at Tiyu Xilu. (Guangzhou Railway Station) → Get off at Gongyuanqian (公园前站 Station)

Walk for about 5 minutes to reach the temple.
🌿 Dafo Temple is an ancient temple in the heart of the city, featuring a large Buddha statue and a lush bamboo garden.
The soft chanting and the scent of incense calmed my mind beyond belief.

☁️ My impression of Guangzhou
This city isn't all high-rise buildings and bright lights,
but it has a hidden "calmness in the rhythm of the city."
At Canton Tower, I witnessed the grandeur of the present.
But at Dafo Temple, I heard the sounds of the past.
Both are perfectly coexisted in one place.
