Starting in October, as the weather in Guangzhou cools down, most aquatic plants enter a yellowing period, but the tall Rain Lily and arrowleaf Rain Lily in a corner of the aquatic garden at South China National Botanical Garden are blooming enthusiastically. The tall Rain Lily can grow up to 1.7 meters, with basal leaves slightly inclined above the water, resembling a spear; its flower stalks are upright, with blue-purple small flowers clustered in racemes. The arrowleaf Rain Lily is much shorter, about 0.5 meters, with triangular-ovate leaves resembling ancient arrowheads, and pale blue flowers in axillary racemes, giving it a more understated look. In addition, the garden also features other blue-purple Rain Lily family plants such as Rain Lily and sky-blue water hyacinth in bloom. Come and encounter these "blue-purple spirits" and feel their fresh charm!
