Escape the autumn chill in Guangzhou in just 1.5 hours! Stay at a waterfall homestay in Conghua and relax while gazing at the bamboo sea—it's absolutely stunning

As soon as autumn and winter arrive, you want to escape to a place with mountains and water. This homestay, hidden in a 400-meter forest in Conghua, fully embraces the "mountain wilderness healing vibe," and 99% of people haven’t discovered it!

It’s only a 1.5-hour drive from downtown, located in Xitou Tourism Village. The moment you enter the homestay, you’re amazed—surrounded by bamboo forests, the wind rustling the leaves, a small creek flowing beside the yard, and a 10-minute walk uphill to a small waterfall. The autumn and winter sunlight shines on the leaves, and even the air feels sweet and fresh. It’s truly a paradise off the beaten path on the Tropic of Cancer✨

We booked the first-floor "Yuexi Waterside Pavilion" room, with a natural wood style that feels very close to nature. Open the door and you’re right by the creek; the sound of flowing water instantly washes away all your worries! The balcony has a private soaking pool with unlimited use. Soaking in it during autumn and winter is warm and cozy, and it’s safe for kids too—no need to squeeze into a public pool. The room details are thoughtful, with motion-sensor lights in the hallway so you don’t have to fumble in the dark at night. The toiletries are sufficient, and you can lie in bed watching the bamboo sea outside the window. You wake up to birdsong—so comfortable!

You won’t be bored at the homestay! If you want quiet, go to the mountain residence book bar and sit daydreaming, with sunlight streaming through the window warming the books and your whole body; if you want activity, take the kids on the family hiking trail—a 10-minute walk to the small waterfall. There are fewer people in autumn and winter, so you can quietly watch the flowing water. In the evening, go to the sunset viewing platform to see the sunset dye the bamboo sea a light golden color—every photo looks like a masterpiece. Although there’s an outdoor pool, autumn and winter focus on the “atmosphere.” Sit by the pool with a hot drink, watch the distant mountain forest, and chill so much you want to sigh~

The food is all mountain wild flavors! Breakfast’s fried rice noodles are super authentic, wrapped in soy sauce aroma, paired with a bowl of hot porridge that feels so comforting; at noon, you can drive 3 kilometers to Xitou Village to eat bamboo tube rice and tofu pudding, and buy seasonal fruits (we previously had super sweet Sanhua plums—there might be other surprises in autumn and winter); at night, order mountain residence dishes at the homestay. The Conghua free-range chicken stew is super fresh, and the reservoir fish is so tender it melts in your mouth. The whole family gathers around to eat hot food, bursting with happiness!

Nearby, you can also visit Liuxi River Forest Park for lake views, Qianlonggou Waterfall for a quiet, less crowded spot, and Danfeng Langqiao Bridge for ancient-style photos. A weekend two-day, one-night trip is just right—no need to rush, just slow down.

If you want to escape the city noise in autumn and winter, find a place with mountains, waterfalls, and private hot springs. This place is a must-go—once you come, you’ll be hooked!
