Guangzhou Eats🍜

Snack attack and skyline vibes in Guangzhou — my stay at Yizhi Mercure near Canton Tower was legit 🙌🌇. You get super easy access to the city’s best spots (hello Pearl River views!), comfy rooms, and a scene full of modern architecture — even if the weather flips from sunny to rainy in a heartbeat.

Food lovers: The in-house restaurant was a big win! Served up bread, lettuce, ham, and warm soup — perfect after a day out exploring. Tip: go for the meat dishes, which were the stars at our table. The breakfast is complimentary, plus there’s free coffee all day for an extra boost. Heads up: if you’re a light sleeper, request a room away from the main street — soundproofing could use a little work.

Must-See Places:
Guangzhou Tower (Yiyuan Road, Tianhe District) — only 10 minutes walk from the hotel, don’t miss the striking city view from the observation deck.
Pearl River Promenade — perfect for a chill or sunset stroll, with awesome outdoor cultural landscapes.
Pazhou Exhibition Center — reachable by metro, blend business and leisure if you’re in town for work.
Hotel: Yizhi Mercure (Canton Tower Metro Station Pazhou Exhibition Store)
Address: No.2 Dongqing Street, Yiyuan Road
Open 24/7, breakfast from 7–10 am

Getting Around:
Metro access is fantastic (Canton Tower station is walkable), and taxis are easy to grab. For the full city experience, try cycling between nearby riverfront public spaces.

Travel Tips:
Bring an umbrella for the random rain, and download a translator app for easy menu navigation.
Exchange small bills for market shopping.
The area’s very safe and clean — locals are friendly!
