China's Guangxi Province, Guilin

Guilin in Guangxi Province, China, is a place I have visited five times. It is considered a gem among China's natural landscapes, renowned worldwide for its unique karst topography and the stunning Li River that harmoniously blends with it, making it a famous tourist destination.

Just as Vietnam's Halong Bay is called the 'Guilin of the Sea,' Guilin in China is often referred to as the 'Halong Bay of the Land' due to the similarity in their mountainous landscapes.

Guilin has a subtropical climate with mild temperatures, an average annual temperature of around 20°C, and even in the hottest months of August and September, the temperature rarely exceeded 30°C in the past. However, due to recent climate changes, temperatures in July and August now fluctuate between 34-35°C.

In the past, visitors could enjoy the picturesque scenery along the Li River over a leisurely four-hour journey using rafts and small boats. Nowadays, with the addition of other tourist attractions around Guilin, package tours typically only cover a one-hour route between Guanyan and Yangshuo.
