Staying at the Anantara in Guiyang is the only way to understand the meaning of chilling out.

The Anantara Resort in Guiyang is set on 1,600 mu of ecological green space. The designer used the concept of "seclusion" to cleverly hide the buildings among the karst peaks and primeval forests. The 300m-long bamboo forest path at the entrance creates an oriental artistic conception of "winding paths leading to seclusion" with a play of light and shadow.

The lobby adopts the overhanging structure of the Dong people's wind and rain bridge, matched with hand-carved Thai teak screens. When the sunlight falls through the hollowed-out patterns, it paints flowing Dong ethnic totems on the ground. The "cascading waterfall" in the central water garden, with its seven-level stepped pools, symbolizes the terraced fields of Guizhou, and the bronze patterns of the Yelang Kingdom inlaid at the bottom change with the lights at night.

The basic room type has an area of 65㎡ and up. The indigo beddings hand-dyed by the Dai ethnic group and the Thai silk cushions complement each other, and the bathroom features a rainforest-style shower room made of Guizhou bluestone slabs, equipped with Anantara's customized lemongrass bath set. The villa area is equipped with 10 rainforest villas with private pools, which are designed with a cantilever structure, and the bottom floor is elevated to avoid moisture. It has a 270° glass viewing pavilion, where you can watch the sea of clouds churning in the morning and enjoy the starry sky at night. The amethyst cave sauna in the bathroom is a must.

The restaurant is managed by a Michelin team from Bangkok. The signature Tom Yum soup is added with wild Guizhou cherry tomatoes to enhance the acidity, and the accompanying spice basket contains ten kinds of freshly picked herbs. For breakfast, you can enjoy freshly made Changwang noodles with Thai boat noodles, and on weekends, Miao ethnic aunties make Siwawa on site.

The 2,000㎡ Anantara Spa features a special "Miao herbal bamboo cupping therapy" that combines Thai herbs and Guizhou Miao herbs. The unique "cave sound therapy" is performed in a cave-like space, where sound waves create a unique resonance as they reflect between the stalactites. The outdoor infinity pool is cantilevered over the cliff, forming a visual effect of "harmony between man and nature" with the karst peaks.

The hotel is only a 20-minute drive from the Longli Grassland, where the ruins of the ancient Yelang Kingdom are scattered on this alpine meadow. The Huaxi Yelang Valley, known as the "Earth's Crack," is one hour away, and the megalithic array created by contemporary artists is hidden in the karst canyon.
