Zhaoxing, Guizhou｜You must not miss the sunset at Tang’an Rice Terraces🌄

If you didn’t go to Tang’an Rice Terraces, this trip to Zhaoxing would probably be very disappointing 😂😂 Tang’an Rice Terraces are beautiful under the golden light of sunset, and Tang’an Dong Village is very peaceful at night and in the morning.

You don’t want to rush down the mountain after watching the sunset🌄 Maybe you can stay one night in the hall and experience it slowly like us. It will definitely be an experience you won’t regret👍

🌟Guizhou Zhaoxing 4 days and 3 nights itinerary🌟:
Day 1: Arrive at Congjiang High-speed Railway Station – Zhaoxing Dong Village – B&B transfer to Tang’an Dong Village
Day 2: Hiking from Tang’an Dong Village to Zhaoxing Dong Village
Day 3: Huanggang Dong Village
Day 4: Return to Zhaoxing Dong Village

We booked a B&B with a view of Tang'an Rice Terraces on the first night. There were not many accommodation options and most of them were not soundproof. But the advantage was that we didn't have to rush down the mountain after watching the sunset. We could also spend the night and the next morning in a quiet and leisurely hotel. Take a stroll in Tang'an Dong Village. Next, let's talk about the specific itinerary in Tang'an for your reference:

🌟Day 1:
✅ Arrive at Tang’an Rice Terraces Viewing B&B around 4 p.m.
✅ Take a walk around Tang'an Dong Village. In addition to the terraces that everyone goes down, we saw a staircase going up the mountain behind the Drum Tower. We were curious and went up to have a look. The scenery is also good (p3-4, p9)
✅ I walked to the middle of the terraces at sunset. I originally wanted to try the newly opened Cowshed Coffee (p12), but there were too many people and the price was a bit high, so I didn’t try it.
✅ After watching the sunset, I went back to the B&B balcony to watch the sunset, which was great
✅ Have dinner at the restaurant on the first floor of the B&B, the farm food is delicious👍🏻

🌟Day 2:
✅ Go to Shanshuijian (p13) for coffee and tea
✅ Check out for lunch
✅ Hiking down to Zhaoxing Dong Village, passing through the Xiage Rice Terraces (p14-18), it takes about 3 hours to walk and take pictures. It is not difficult but you need to know the route in advance because there are no signage on some side roads.
✅ Arrive at Zhaoxing Dong Village

To be honest, I feel that Zhaoxing Dong Village is really overly commercialized now. Half of the main streets are travel photography shops or some nondescript shops🥲🥲The village is full of people traveling to take photos in every corner , the car drove into the already crowded village, and it turned into a smoky night market street at night, with singing from several bars filling the streets.

If I hadn’t experienced it slowly in Tang’an this time, I would have been extremely disappointed with this trip‼ ️But I have seen the golden terraces shrouded by the setting sun, seen the crimson sunset over the endless mountains, experienced the quiet beauty that only belongs to the morning before it is occupied by tourists, and walked through an idyllic scenery between the terraces and the Dong Village. Hiking 🏞️🏞️
