Guizhou Travel | Who Can Resist the Passion of Ethnic Minorities

Promise me you must come to Liping, Guizhou!!! This seriously underrated hidden gem—Zhaoxing Dong Village—is absolutely stunning! 🌾✨ Especially recommend choosing a rice field view room, where every morning you open the window to a healing view of the rice paddies. Once you stay here, you won’t want to leave~

🏯 About Zhaoxing Dong Village
This is one of the largest Dong villages in China, still preserving the pure Dong culture. Five drum towers and five wind-and-rain bridges are arranged harmoniously, and photos taken in the early morning mist are breathtaking! Even better, there are few tourists, so there’s no commercialized hustle and bustle at all.

🏡 Must-Stay Rice Field View Room Guide:
1. [Dong Village Tingyuxuan]
• Floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see layer upon layer of rice fields lying in bed
• Room has a scenic terrace, perfect for photos! Recommend getting up at 6 AM to capture the morning mist
• Includes a special long-table banquet breakfast featuring sour soup fish and oil tea

2. [Heju Rice Field Homestay]
• Wooden house built on the ridge of the fields, open the window to the breeze blowing over the rice waves
• Offers ethnic costume rental (20 RMB/set), great for photos in the rice fields
• At night, you can sit by the fire pit in the courtyard and listen to the owner’s Dong legends

3. [Dong Village Zhuyunjian]
• Bamboo stilt house architecture, perfectly blending with the natural environment
• Top-floor star room with skylight, great for lying down and stargazing on clear nights
• 3-minute walk to the village center, super convenient location

📸 Must-Visit Spots:
• Tang’an Terraces: 20-minute hike, golden rice fields at sunrise are stunning
• Village Gate Viewing Platform: best spot to overlook the entire Dong village panorama
• Drum Tower Night View: especially dreamy when lit up at night

🍲 Food Recommendations:
• Dong-style sour soup fish (about 50 RMB per person)
• Glutinous rice wrapped roasted meat (10 RMB each)
• Freshly made roadside sticky rice cakes (5 RMB per serving)

🚗 Travel Tips:
• Take the high-speed train to Congjiang Station, then a 15-minute taxi ride
• Walk inside the village, comfortable shoes recommended
• Bring rain gear during rainy season (May to August), as field paths can get muddy

💡 My Secret Tips:
• Go to the rice fields at 6 AM to watch the sunrise; the morning mist and cooking smoke look like a watercolor painting
• Book a Dong grand song performance with the homestay owner (usually starts at 8 PM)
• Buy a Dong fabric tie-dye scarf (80-120 RMB) as a souvenir

Now is the best time to see the golden rice (September to October), ladies, hurry up! Staying in a rice field homestay will truly heal all your worries~
