After three fun nights in Maafushi, it was time to change islands. It rained the entire afternoon. After checking out, I just sat at the hotel waiting for a long time. I couldn't go out for a walk or anything.
We checked that the public boat would arrive at Maafushi and depart from Maafushi to Guraidhoo around 4 PM. Deep down, I was a little worried about whether the boat would actually arrive, and what if it didn't, but I persevered.
At around 4 PM, we waited for the boat at the pier where we'd disembarked from Male.
Then, the storm hit for real. It was raining and windy. There was very little shelter. My entire body and luggage were soaked. But soon, the boat arrived. There were about 5-6 passengers. The journey took about 15 minutes. The boat cost 2 USD per person.
The boat ride was exciting. The rain was strong, the waves were strong, but the boat was big, so it didn't rock much.
In short, we arrived at Guraidhoo like a drowned puppy, but it was fun. I have stories to tell.
