Cloudy Day Dream☁️

If you’re up for a full-day adventure in Gwacheon-Si just outside Seoul, here’s an itinerary that packs culture, nature, and a laid-back river sunset into one rainy, cloud-kissed outing 🌧️🌳. Don’t let the weather scare you — it adds a mysterious vibe to Korea’s best outdoor landscapes!
Start your morning at the MMCA | National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Gwacheon (313 Gwangmyeong-ro; open Tues-Sun 10:00-18:00). The architecture here is next level and the rain brings out those modern lines — perfect for moody Insta shots.
Next, wander over to Seoul Grand Park Theme Garden (102 Daegongwongwangjang-ro; 09:00-19:00) for fresh air, quirky sculptures, and lush greenery. Even on cloudy days, the trees and ponds look dreamy.
Hop on the Seoul Grand Park Skylift — drifting above the canopy, you’ll get panoramic views of gardens and lakes (especially magical on a misty afternoon!).
On the ground, check out Seoul Zoo (same address; admission ₩9,100; spring/summer 09:00-18:00/19:00). It’s super spacious and the animal enclosures blend into the natural landscape. Bring a light rain jacket and use covered walkways if the drizzle kicks in!
Finish up at Gwacheon’s Botanical Gardens, and then head into Seoul for chill vibes at Ttukseom Hangang Park (139 Gangbyeonbuk-ro, Gwangjin District) where local musicians busk by the riverside!
My top tip: Grab ramyun from a convenience store, then find a dry spot near the water and let the tunes and scenery recharge you. Public transit gets you everywhere—just tap your T-Money card for easy bus/metro connections.
