One-day Haikou Tour: A Comprehensive Guide for an Amazing Experience!

Hey guys, if you only have one day in Haikou, don't worry! Follow my itinerary to explore the best of Haikou and experience the charm of Coconut City!

Itinerary

1. Arcade Old Street: Stepping into Arcade Old Street is like traveling back in time. The Nanyang-style buildings have a unique charm, and the mottled walls tell stories of the past. Stroll along the street, admire the exquisite carved doors and windows, and savor authentic local snacks like coconut rice and Qingbuliang. Every bite is a taste of Hainan.
2. Jianwai Minsu 3rd Floor Terrace: A short walk from Arcade Old Street, this is a photography hotspot, but there's a minimum spending requirement for taking photos. From the terrace, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the old street, and every shot is Instagram-worthy.
3. No. 73 Longwenfang: Continue walking to No. 73 Longwenfang, a place filled with artistic vibes. Check in at Haojie (Longwenfang Branch) and enjoy their specialties. If you like music and drinks, No. 6 Music Restaurant & Bar is also worth a visit.
4. Guanhai Terrace: After visiting the first three places, take a taxi to Guanhai Terrace. The best spot for photos is on the left side of the road, directly facing the clock tower. Don't go directly to the clock tower, as it's inconvenient to cross the road. Here, you can admire the vastness of the sea and feel the gentle caress of the sea breeze.
5. Haikou Cloud Gallery: Head to the Haikou Cloud Gallery in the late afternoon to watch the sunset. This uniquely shaped library looks like it has grown out of the sea. However, it can be windy during sunset, and there are many people taking photos, so you might have to queue for the best spots. Also, you need good weather to see the stunning sunset. I didn't see it because it was foggy during my visit, which was a bit of a pity.
6. Century Bridge: After leaving the Cloud Gallery, take a stroll along Century Bridge with the sea breeze in your hair. The view from the bridge is superb, with the city lights blending with the seascape, creating a super romantic atmosphere.
7. Mario Building: Although you might be tired after a day of sightseeing, don't miss the Mario Building. Its unique architectural style makes for great photos.

Accommodation Recommendations

I recommend staying near the west coast or Evergreen Park, which are close to the beach and various attractions, making it convenient to travel and saving time.

Food Recommendations

1. Seafood Noodle Soup: I love seafood noodle soup. The broth is delicious and packed with seafood. I personally like to add some wild chili sauce for an extra kick.
