- Name Origin: During the Western Han Dynasty, King Liu Pi of Wu boiled seawater here to make salt and established the "Salt Official," giving rise to the name "Yanguan"
- Historical Glory: Salt industry flourished during the Ming and Qing Dynasties; Emperor Qianlong visited Jiangnan six times, including four visits here
- Modern Transformation: In September 2024, it was splendidly reborn as the "Yanguan City of Tide Music" 🎵
