The least popular city I visited this year, I am afraid it will become popular

Chendang Ancient Town. If I hadn’t loved Yu Hua’s works, I might never have discovered this hidden coastal gem in Zhejiang.

Mr. Yu Hua’s “I want to swim until the sea turns blue” acted as an introduction, leading me to his hometown - Haiyan.
👉Following the writing style of "a portion of fried pork liver, two taels of rice wine, warm the rice wine" in Xu Sanguan Selling Blood, I stepped into the Victory Hotel described by Yu Hua, and wandered in the Shendang Town with a history of more than 2,000 years, as if I had stepped into the other world of his novel.

📍Location: Benhu West Road, Chendang Town, Haiyan County, Jiaxing City

🚙Transportation: You can drive directly to "Victory Hotel". Passengers taking the high-speed rail can first go to Jiaxing South Station, then take bus No. K175🚎 to Songpo East Road Station, scan the code and pay 2 yuan. The whole journey takes about 30 minutes.

🎫Tickets: Free

📸Photography check-in spots in Chendang Old Street:

• Shengli Hotel (Figure 2) is located on Benhu West Road, Chendang Town, Haiyan County, Jiaxing City
(❗️Please note that this is not the Victory Hotel on North Street)

• Xuanhutang Cafe (the two characters “沉荡” in Figure 1 are located here)

• Café on Chendang West Street (Figure 3)

•Shendang Barn (Figure 4)

• Barn Bookstore (Figure 5)

Although Chendang Ancient Town is not as famous as Nanxun and Wuzhen, it perfectly reproduces the scenes in Yu Hua's literary world. A great choice for a day trip around Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai to avoid crowds!
