Three-Day Trip to the Austrian Lake District

Many people say a one-day trip to the Austrian Lake District is enough, but staying there for three days this time still felt too short.

We stayed at Hotel Haus am See Self Check-IN, which offered rooms with stunning views and a prime location. From downstairs, you can take a boat to Hallstatt, and there's a park nearby where you can swim. The town itself is small, with only a few restaurants, so it's essential to stock up on food. The accommodation is a bit far from the only supermarket in town. At night, you can see countless stars!

On the second day, we visited Hallstatt. It was crowded with people, but it was truly beautiful and worth visiting for photos!

On the third day, we went to a nearby ice cave where the temperature was freezing, so make sure to wear warm clothes! After that, we headed to Gosau. We initially planned to walk around the lake, but due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, we had to cancel. Later, the sun came out, so we strolled around the town. The town is picturesque and perfect for photography—definitely worth a visit! However, keep in mind that buses in the lake district run infrequently, so plan your itinerary carefully in advance!
