Gakuho Bridge

A tourist spot in Handan, Hebei Province.

I went to the Xuebu Bridge, which is the origin of the four-character idiom "Handan Xuebu".

"Handan Xuebu" means

When you try to imitate others but fail, you forget your own originality, and neither of you succeed.

"Handan" is a place name in China.

During the Warring States period in China, a young man from the rural country of Yan went to Handan, a city in Zhao, and tried to imitate the way the city people walked, but failed, forgot how he had been walking, and crawled home.

It's not a very good thing, but...

I went there early in the morning, and the surface of the river was beautiful. There were bronze statues and stone monuments, so it was easy to see.
