Fahai Temple 🍃

We entered Fahai Temple just as sunlight spilled through the clouds, illuminating the hillside paths and gilded rooftops like a quiet blessing 🌤️🏯🌿. Tucked into the folds of Hangzhou’s mountains, Faxi Temple felt both hidden and deeply present a place where time slowed and footsteps softened. The scent of incense lingered in the air, rising in gentle spirals from altars as monks moved calmly through the courtyards, their robes the only movement in the morning stillness.

As we wandered through the temple grounds, prayer flags fluttered above stone steps, and the sound of chanting echoed faintly from within the main hall 🕯️🙏🍃. Tourists spoke in hushed voices, some lighting incense, others simply pausing beneath the ginkgo trees to breathe and take in the calm. Faxi Temple didn’t boast grandeur it offered grace. A sanctuary not far from the city, yet far enough to remind you what peace feels like: simple, steady, and full of quiet joy 🕊️🧘♀️🌄.
