What a magical experience it is to stay in a Republic of China era villa in Hangzhou!

Although located in a bustling city, it still maintains the deep, quiet atmosphere of a high-walled courtyard, offering a serene escape amidst the noise. Being in the forest, everything feels relaxed and comfortable. Waking up naturally, the only sound outside is birdsong with no disturbances. Feeling refreshed and fully oxygenated, sitting quietly on the balcony facing the woods, feeling the slight cool breeze. The hotel has prepared Tiger Running Spring water in advance for brewing tea, making it even more pleasant. There is an old tree preserved inside the room that extends through the roof. Lying on the linen-textured bed and looking outside, you can just lie there all day without a care. No need to go out, just quietly enjoy your own time. The biggest surprise is a maple tree outside the door, full of red leaves. All the plants and floral arrangements in the courtyard and room are my favorite varieties. This is truly a dream house for a brief escape from the world. The villa from the Republic of China era carries the sediment of history. Every ornament and design seems to reflect and tell the story of time, with an inherent steadiness and understatement, yet the natural tones highlight the vitality and elegance of life. You truly see a scene at every step, with no waste at all, perfectly balanced. Every detail showcases the hotel's aesthetic skill and taste, and even the names of each room elegantly capture the charm of words.
The restaurant’s food is excellent, featuring innovative fusion dishes. The glass room and outdoor garden provide a great dining environment, especially breakfast, with freshly made exquisite dim sum, noodles, and a semi-buffet, plus beautifully crafted latte art coffee. It’s one of the most impressive breakfasts I’ve had at a hotel (along with An Yu). The hotel has a swimming pool, which, although not large, has a great atmosphere, especially the glass room next to the pool. Free tea, fruit, and snacks are provided, where you can sit quietly, listen to birdsong, breathe fresh air, and write—offering a unique charm.
At Maple Villa, climbing the steps to enter the room, there are two large glass windows with the forest right outside, like sleeping in the woods. The room’s amenities are amazing: Tiger Running Spring water for tea, five or six kinds of tea leaves, capsule coffee, nuts, fruit snacks, evening desserts, and even a nail care kit. In short, every detail shows thoughtful care.
A few minutes’ walk from the hotel is an ecological park with beautiful surroundings. At sunset, running around inside with children, there are hardly any people, feeling like being in a primeval forest. About a 20-minute walk leads to the famous Tiger Running Park. Staying at the hotel and strolling through the park allows you to quietly enjoy wonderful moments.
This is a hotel I will return to. It feels like a home deep in my heart. When tired, coming here lets me unload my heart, think of nothing, and quietly feel the beauty accumulated through the passage of time.
