📍 A historic district in Hangzhou near West Lake
✨ Qinghefang is a well-preserved ancient pedestrian street featuring houses and buildings in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is lined with shops, traditional Chinese medicine stores, local food stalls, and Chinese tea shops, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.
✨ The walkway is fairly wide and paved with old stones. Both sides are filled with unique shops, such as Chinese fan stores, old-style barber shops, traditional Chinese medicine shops, and souvenir stores. It’s a delightful place to stroll, shop, and take photos.
✨ A highlight is the Hu Qing Yu Tang store, an ancient Chinese medicine shop that also houses a small museum. The museum showcases the culture of Chinese herbal medicine, offering a glimpse into the old way of life in the city.
✨ The evening ambiance is wonderful, with soft lighting and shadows from the ancient buildings combined with the glow of shop lights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s perfect for leisurely walks, photography, or enjoying tea at a small tea shop.
✨ Visiting in the early morning or late morning before the crowds arrive allows for uninterrupted photography and a peaceful experience exploring the smaller alley shops.
✨ There are plenty of local snacks to try along the way, such as traditional desserts, milk tea, soy milk, and Chinese street food, with many spots to rest and enjoy.
