Leifeng Pagoda – The legendary tower on the West Lake

If you're visiting West Lake and want to see all the important landmarks, Leifeng Pagoda is a must-see. It's especially romantic in the evening, offering stunning sunset views.

Getting there 🛳️

We recommend starting with a boat tour along the West Lake route.
• Start from Hubin Park Pier → Boat trip to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon Island
• Then, take a boat to Huagang Park Pier, which is very close to Leifeng Pagoda. The pier has the word "LEIFENG PAGODA" in parentheses.

From the pier, simply walk along the lakeside path to the pagoda. It's convenient and offers a complete lake view.

Inside the pagoda:
• Escalators are available for convenience from the entrance.
• There's an elevator in the center of the pagoda that takes you to the top floor, but it can get quite crowded, so you'll have to wait in line.
• If you're up for a walk, we recommend taking the stairs (about 4-5 stories). The stairs are clearly separated into up and down sections, so don't accidentally walk against the flow. Because the stairs are quite narrow.

Highlights
• The top floor of the pagoda offers a 360-degree view of West Lake, capturing the water, mountains, and Hangzhou.
• If you visit between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, you'll be treated to a breathtaking sunset, the golden light shining down on the lake.

Summary of my impressions ❤️
Leifeng Pagoda is not only historically significant, but also boasts the best viewpoint of West Lake, especially in the evening. We recommend taking a boat trip around the lake to fully experience the pagoda and finish at the pagoda.
