A month late, this Hangzhou Osmanthus Viewing Map is finally put to use

This year, Hangzhou set a record for high-temperature days, causing the osmanthus flowers to bloom late. They briefly bloomed at the end of September but withered quickly. It’s only in the past few days that their fragrance has returned, more than a month later than usual. Osmanthus is the city flower of Hangzhou and is widely planted, but enjoying it requires considering the overall ambiance. Here are my personal recommendations for osmanthus viewing spots:
1️⃣ Yun Song Book House - Botanical Garden
A Jiangnan-style garden built by Jin Yong, with osmanthus flowers that have a unique charm. Next door is the Hangzhou Botanical Garden, where the north gate features a large osmanthus forest.
2️⃣ Lian Temple
A lesser-known but stunning spot for osmanthus viewing; the second wave of flowers has already bloomed.
3️⃣ Fajing Temple
The century-old red osmanthus here is my favorite, but you’ll need to wait a few more days.
4️⃣ Manjuelong
The second wave of osmanthus has bloomed; I recommend Shiwudong and Upper Manjuelong.
5️⃣ Faxisi Temple
The osmanthus outside the mountain gate and the Hall of Heavenly Kings creates a fully classical ambiance.
6️⃣ Lingyin Temple
A thousand-year-old ancient temple meets osmanthus, recreating the scene of “searching for osmanthus in the mountain temple under the moon.”
7️⃣ Fancun
In the tea garden opposite the Tea Research Institute, the osmanthus trees are full of wild charm.
