You don't have to go to Chengdu to see pandas. Hangzhou has them too.

A visit to the mainland wouldn't be complete without a trip to the zoo! I've been to Guangzhou Zoo before, and overall, I feel that Guangzhou Zoo is slightly better. Hangzhou Zoo is built along a mountain, so exploring the zoo involves a lot of uphill walking, which can be a minor drawback.
The panda pavilion requires advance booking, but when I arrived, no one was checking 😅. Perhaps it was because I visited on a weekday during the off-season, and there were many elementary school students there for educational trips.
Inside, there's an adorable male giant panda named Chunsheng! He was born in 2020, which makes him much younger than me. The zoo also features regular acrobatics and sea lion performances. You can check the zoo's announcements for specific timings.
One of the highlights of visiting Hangzhou Zoo is the opportunity to connect with nature. The zoo has flowing streams where you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the water.
