
The Taihang Roof Scenic Area, located in Shibanyan, Linzhou City, Henan Province, is a National Key Scenic Area of the Southern Taihang Mountains, a National AAAA-level Tourist Area, and a National Base for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. The Taihang Roof Scenic Area, along with Wangxiang Rock, Peach Blossom Valley, and the Red Flag Canal, forms a scenic belt.
The entrance to the Taihang Roof Scenic Area features the vast and tranquil Taihang Pinghu Lake, accessible by both land and water. The vast area is divided into Pinghu District, Cascading Water District, Specialty Agricultural Area, and Folk Customs Area, forming a circular connection with winding paths leading to secluded areas. The Taihang Roof Scenic Area offers convenient transportation, with dedicated tourist buses providing direct access, making it suitable for a variety of visitors.
This was once the place where Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu, fled and took refuge. It was also the place where Hai Zizhou, the 24th generation of Linxia in Licheng County, Shanxi Province, cultivated his character and made elixirs in the 18th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty. It was also the place where the Eighth Route Army stored grain.
Boasting a temperate monsoon climate, the scenic area of Xingwuji is as beautiful as Mount Emei, more majestic than Mount Tai, as precipitous as Mount Hua, and as profound as Mount Heng. Red rock cliffs rise thousands of feet high, and green trees reflect the mountains. Every mountain is a monument, and every corner is a painting. The scenery changes with your steps, making it a suitable place for travel in all seasons.
The main attractions of the Taihang Roof Scenic Area include: Asia's first rockfill dam, geological elevator, dam bottom corridor, Taihang Pinghu (Liuxiu Lake), Suzigou National Village, Black Dragon Temple, Ziyun Bridge, Xiaoxiangtan, Liuxiu Stone, Shengxiang Rock, Duyun Plank Road, Liandan Rock, Xuantan, Jiulian Xieyu Waterfall, Shengshui Yaochi, Muguo Temple, Duijiuwa Chinese medicinal materials production base, Huaishuwa vegetable picking area production base, Ziyun Villa, Ziyunding Observation Deck, Jinniu Grinding Mill, Jiulian Jueding, Taihang Stone Forest, tiankeng and didong, and Qiaozi Cave.
